From your first contact through all follow-up appointments, you receive the complete attention of Kevin S. Garrison, owner of Garrison’s Prosthetic Services. A certified and licensed prosthetist and author, Kevin is also an amputee, a circumstance that gives him a unique insight into his clients’ needs. Kevin has devoted himself to the rehabilitation of disabled persons for over 40 years.

Whether you’re young or old, a new amputee or someone who has been an amputee for many years, we treat you in a holistic manner as an individual – not just as someone with a disability. Our practice has the experienced staff to deal with any challenge, designing, fabricating and fitting your prosthesis on-site with the latest innovations and extraordinary attention to detail.

Biography

Kevin S. Garrison C.P., L.P./Author Certified & Licensed Prosthetist

Mr. Garrison became involved in prosthetic work when he was 19 years old and employed by a local prosthetic facility for several years in El Paso, Texas. He then attended the University of California, Los Angeles, subsequently transferring to Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where he successfully completed his prosthetic studies.

After successfully completing his formal prosthetic education, Mr. Garrison practiced prosthetics for numerous years before founding Garrison’s Prosthetic Services, Inc. in 1986 in North Miami Beach, Florida. He continues owning and operating his successful prosthetic care company today.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Garrison has a United States patent for a Quick Change Mechanism for a Limb Prosthesis, had an article published in the Journal of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association titled “Prosthetic Modifications for the Treatment of Marginally Viable Below-Knee Amputations”, Volume 37, Number 2, 1983, p. 53.

In 2017 he wrote a third edition of an inspirational autobiography called “It’s Just a Matter of Balance – You Can’t Put a Straight Leg on a Crooked Man” which is now listed as recommended reading by the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists, also in “The Veterans and Active Duty Military Psychotherapy Treatment Planner” under Amputation, Loss of Mobility, And/ Or Disfigurement.

Mr. Garrison has been living in South Florida since 1980; he has five children – two daughters and three sons – and eight grandchildren.
